Return and Refund Policy

At The Oriental – Gangtok, we strive to provide a seamless and satisfying experience for all our guests. We understand that travel plans can change, and we aim to be as flexible and transparent as possible when it comes to refunds and cancellations.

1. Room Booking Cancellations

We offer full or partial refunds based on the timing of your cancellation as outlined below:

  • Full Refund: Cancellations made 7 days or more before the check-in date will receive a 100% refund of the booking amount.
  • Partial Refund: Cancellations made within 7 days of the check-in date will be charged one night’s stay as a cancellation fee. The remaining amount will be refunded.
  • No Refund:
    • Cancellations made within 24 hours of check-in,
    • No-shows, or
    • Early check-outs after arrival
      will not be eligible for a refund.

2. Modifying a Booking

  • Date changes are subject to availability and must be requested at least 72 hours prior to the original check-in date.
  • If the revised booking dates fall in a higher tariff period (such as holidays or peak season), the difference in rate will be applicable.
  • Rescheduling does not guarantee the same room type or rate.

3. Refund Process

  • Approved refunds will be processed within 7–10 business days from the date of cancellation.
  • Refunds will be issued via the original method of payment.
  • Bank processing times may vary; we are not responsible for delays caused by external financial institutions.

4. Non-Refundable Bookings

  • Some promotional offers, discounted bookings, or special rates may be marked as non-refundable. Please check the specific terms at the time of booking.
  • No refunds will be given for such bookings unless required by applicable law.

5. Force Majeure

In the event of cancellations due to unforeseen circumstances such as natural disasters, government restrictions, strikes, or other events beyond our control, we will work with guests on a case-by-case basis to provide flexible solutions, including rescheduling or issuing credits.
